HOME WHAT IS TRAUMA? WHAT IS WELL BEING? SYMPTOMS OF TRAUMA BACKGROUND

Are you coping with the aftermath of a car accident, a difficult divorce, a cancer diagnosis, or childhood or sexual abuse?

Are you aware that emotional memory can be held in the body?

Have you tried therapy, yet felt there was something more...?

Did you know there is a natural, biological way for the body and nervous system to respond to stress or injury?

IT IS POSSIBLE to recover from trauma. A trauma is any event which a person experiences as overwhelming, or is a threat to life or safety.

GREATER WELLBEING IS POSSIBLE. We can learn skills of self-regulation, to feel at "at home", safe and empowered in our body and in our world. We can learn to use our attention to notice what is pleasurable, in the present moment, instead of what is wrong, confused or hurt.

WE CAN LEARN TO MOVE FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF TRAUMA TO ONE OF GREATER WELLBEING.

Using body-oriented psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing, I can teach you to pay attention to subtle cues from the muscles, breath and nervous system, which reveal deeply held muscular patterns and emotions. It is through noticing cycles of activation and relaxation in the nervous system that we allow a resolution of symptoms. You CAN learn to feel better, and experience more ease in your life.
